By doing this we create a division between the spiritual and material planes, because by reducing the value of Yin energy we are less reflective thinking that susceptibility is something negative, because it implies fragility. Unfortunately, in our society there is a tendency to favor Yang energy, thinking that its characteristics are the most significant. We must never think that one energy is superior to the other, both must concur equally. If there is an imbalance of either of these two energies, Yin or Yang, our life is not balanced, as together they are strengthened. The ellipse that unites them means that everything flows, transforms, and evolves. Within the Yang we find a Yin circle, indicating that within the light we will always find darkness. Within the Yin is a Yang circle, which symbolizes that darkness always requires light. Its colors, black and white, mean that duality exists, and that for one to subsist, the other must undeniably exist. Both parts are joined in the middle by an ellipse that links them forming a curve. The symbolism of Ying/Yang is divided into two halves, one is black (Yin) and the other white (Yang). This energy can be found in everything that exists, the tangible and the intangible. Yin is opposite to Yang and vice versa, but together they reach total balance. The concept of Yin and Yang is the most important within that balance. The Chinese consider universal energy to be governed by balance. It is a complicated system since they are not only governed by the lunar cycles, but also include the solar cycle, that of Jupiter and Saturn. The Chinese, Islamic and Hebrew calendars are governed by the lunar phases. Many cultures replaced the lunar calendar with the calendar of the Sun. The Chinese calendar is ancient and complex and has never been simplified.
